Why Modular Buildings

why modular buildings?

Because it's about saving time, money and adding flexibility!

The Modular Office Buildings Advantage

The term "Modular" can mean many different things depending on how it is used. In the building industry, it refers to a different method of creating additional space than the conventional approach of on-site construction.

Modular office buildings, health care centers, churches, classrooms, or any other type of portable accommodation facilities are built in sections (often referred to as "modules") in a quality-controlled environment. This environment is free from the effects of weather, both of which can have a serious impact on time and money on a given project.  This type of construction is commonly referred to as "off-site" construction.

To gain a better appreciation for the advantage of modular construction vs. conventional construction, think "faster, less expensive, more flexible construction" than the conventional approach... think faster ROI!

The Modular Office Buildings Process

From the early stages of the project that begins with a space requirement, we work closely with both the customer and the manufacturer on ideas on how to best solve the modular building need. TLG Modular Building Solutions will work the customer to complete a design, then transfer the custom design to a blue print. Once the design is completed and approved, then starts construction of the modular building.

As the modules are being constructed in the controlled plant environment (also known as off-site construction), your construction site is being prepared. This saves significant time in what is known as "concurrent construction." As with traditional construction on-site, we DO NOT have to wait for the foundation to cure before the walls go up. Your modular building is being built at the same time.

Concurrent with the completion of the the foundation, we transport the modules to the site. Modules typically arrive about 80 to 90 percent complete. We then position or crane-lift the modules onto the foundation, link them, and close up the mate lines for a seamless, finished installation.

Finally, the finish work to be done on the modular office buildings site such as landscaping, parking lot, exterior lighting and all other site work that may be required by your local municipality for zoning requirements can then be completed. Your modular office buildings are ready months faster than with conventional construction methods.

To give you a better idea of exactly how the process works, below is a timeline of the time savings of a modular building vs. a conventional building. This demonstrates that YOU will be in YOUR portable accommodation facility ready to do business in less time than typical conventional construction.
